Support network
As an NQT you will have a reduced teaching timetable, 10% release time throughout your NQT year and an additional 10% for planning preparation and assessment time as part of the national agreement for all teachers.
A structured support network exists in Haringey for our new teachers. You will be allocated a fully trained mentor to nurture and monitor your progress throughout the induction period.

Benefits
Although defined as an outer London borough, we pay teachers inner London allowance. This means that NQTs in Haringey are awarded the higher London allowance.
NQT's currently earn a minimum of £26,000 and possibly more depending on experience and schools' policies.

We operate a pool system, where NQTs are interviewed and their details are placed on a database that is made available to schools.
The entry requirements for the Newly Qualified Teachers are:
- About to complete a course leading to QTS eg Bachelor of Education degree, PGCE etc
- Or eligible for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
(Please note that any offer of employment is subject to attainment of QTS by September 2010.)
How to apply: download the application pack from the attached files section below. We recommend that you read the guidance notes and the selection criteria before completing your application form and ensure that your personal statement addresses the selection criteria.
Once you complete your application form, you should return it along with the Recruitment Monitoring and CRB Declaration forms by email or by post (address on the form) by the deadline.
Interviews will be taking place in March 2010 and the database will be available to headteachers from April 2010.
The closing date for the primary pool is Wednesday 24 February 2010.
