Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT)

Support network

As an NQT you will have a reduced teaching timetable, 10% release time throughout your NQT year and an additional 10% for planning preparation and assessment time as part of the national agreement for all teachers.

A structured support network exists in Haringey for our new teachers. You will be allocated a fully trained mentor to nurture and monitor your progress throughout the induction period.

Benefits

Although defined as an outer London borough, we pay teachers inner London allowance. This means that NQTs in Haringey are awarded the higher London allowance.

NQT's currently earn a minimum of £24,168 and possibly more depending on experience and schools' policies.
