Apprenticeships

  • Unemployed and would like to become an apprentice?

We offer the following programmes in business administration, information technology and customer service:

  • Apprenticeships - Level 2 (for young people in employment)
  • Programme-led pathway apprenticeships- PLP (for young unemployed people).

Business Administration apprenticeships Level 2

This programme offers free training for people who are already working part time or full time in administration or seeking employment in this field

These sessions are suitable for employers who would like to recruit future apprentices or take advantage of this staff development opportunity for their employees within the specified age group.

Benefits of Apprenticeship

On successful completion of your programme you can gain:

  • A full framework qualification that incorporates an NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) Level 2/3, key skills qualifications and a technical certificate
  • Additional training needed for the job e.g. IT and communication
  • References from the employer for future job applications.

Successful completion may lead to continued employment with your employer.

Our apprenticeship/new deal scheme is called new start.

HALS is also developing opportunities with local employers. Currently we have apprentices and new start learners working in the following areas:

  • Administration (1 year to complete for NVQ level 2). Administration learners can be located in various directorates including
