- Learner Support Officers
- If you have a health problem or disability
- Crèche
Employment and Learning Advisers
Employment and Learning Advisers offer careers Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to HALS Learners. Advice and guidance is available, if you live in the North London LSC area, are over 19 and
- do not have a NVQ Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) or above OR
- have a disability or learning difficulty.
Advisers can help identify what your learning and work aims are through quick queries or detailed one to one meetings.
Advisers can help you access useful information about courses, careers and job search and you may wish to speak to an Adviser when making decisions about possible courses.
Advisers are also available for information and queries during and after attending a course. Information is available irrespective to qualification level.
|Back to topLearner Support Officers
Learner Support Officers can provide information about joining programmes and advice on problems that may affect your learning.
Learner Support Officers are responsible for learners on Work - based Learning programmes, will be actively involved in your induction, will monitor your progress and support you on your work placement.
|Back to topIf you have a health problem or disability
If you have a health problem or disability that might affect your learning please let us know. We will try and meet your individual needs.
If we are unable to make suitable adjustments, we will do our best to put you in touch with another organisation that can.
The sooner you let us know, the sooner we can respond.
We will keep you informed about the arrangements we are making on your behalf and when they will be put into place.
We can offer you:
- A confidential interview to ensure that you have chosen the right course/s and discuss what additional support and/or specialist adjustments we can reasonably make.
- An initial assessment to help to identify how the course contents, equipment and materials can be adapted.
- Regular one-to-one meetings to discuss any difficulties you are having and work towards a solution.
- The opportunity to discuss any concessions that can be made to complete assessment when working towards a qualification (let us know as soon as possible in case we need to contact the awarding body).
Crèche
If you are attending a Family Learning course or a course at a Learning Centre, there may be limited crèche places available. Please ask at enrolment for details of places and cost.
If you are on a Work-Based Learning programme, funding will be available to help pay for a crèche or registered childminder.
