Information Advice and Guidance (IAG)

At HALS we offer you the support to help you get the best out of the course and to plan what you want to do after your course.

Our Employment and Learning Advisers (ELAs) provide careers information and advice on learning and work. They make regular class visits. This service is available to

  • All Learners on a course at HALS

As a next step partner we also see:

  • Adults aged 20 or over living, working or studying in the London region

You can access careers advice if one or more of the following statements apply to you:

  • I do not have the equivalent of an NVQ level 2 qualification or above
  • I have a disability or learning difficulty
  • I have literacy or numeracy needs or English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) needs
  • I am a labour market returner, lone parent, 50+, from a black, minority or ethnic group or an offender
  • I am attending one of your courses and I am 20 or older

HALS IAG service is a member of the nextstep London North partnership and is accredited by matrix (the national quality standard for information advice and guidance services).

See an adviser

To see one of our Employment and Learning Advisers you need to:

  • Book an interview or a place on a workshop
  • Use the Drop In Service (see below)
  • Regular visits are also made to classes

To book a place for an interview or a workshop you can either call 0208 489 2500 or visit HALS Reception on the second floor of Wood Green Library.
