Crèche at KIS
Keeping It Simple (KIS) Training, based in Tottenham, specialises in helping people into employment, training and enterprise, supporting clients to achieve to their full potential.
The Crèche at KIS can train you to work in childcare or youth work, and you will gain the National Certificate of Further Education (NCFE) Intermediate Certificate in Developing Skills for Working with Children and Young People, an accredited NVQ Level 2 equivalent Social Care Industry qualification. The project also provides free childcare facilities to help parents participating in the training to attend and make the most of the course.
What's involved?
The course involves 60 hours of guided learning hours, to be completed over a 12 week period, and covers:
- Personal and Professional Development
- Equal Opportunities
- Health and Safety
- Child Protection
- Child Development, and
- Designing Play Activities.
You will also complete 30 hours of practical work experience placement and get a real sense of what working with children and young people will be like.
As well as your accredited training, you will receive additional training and support to help improve your chances of finding work, including CV writing, presentation skills, interview techniques and job brokerage.
You can also take advantage of KIS business training, if you are interested in working for yourself or starting your own business. This training will cover business orientation and fundamental concepts of business planning, and will help you assess whether social care industry entrepreneurship is the right option for you.
