Jobs For Haringey
Haringey Council is tackling the unemployment crisis head on with a pioneering project to help hundreds of people into work.
Jobs for Haringey will see the council working with businesses and partners to generate a minimum of 300 new vacancies and help at least 600 local residents to find jobs.
Jobs for Haringey will deliver one-to-one support with job search, applications and interviews, and jobs will go hand-in-hand with specialised training backed by the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London as well as the Haringey Adult Learning Service.
The project was officially launched in May 2012 with a Haringey Business Summit where employers had the opportunity to team up with the council to create opportunities in the borough.
Haringey Council is investing more than £2.5million into Jobs for Haringey, with additional funding from the Mayor of London’s Regeneration Fund (subject to agreeing grant terms and conditions) and the Greater London Authority’s European Social Fund allocation.
The project will also include a dedicated Jobs Fund to meet some of the costs of creating new jobs, including a contribution towards wages and training.
More information about Jobs for Haringey and the Jobs Fund will be made available on the council website over the coming weeks. If you have any immediate queries about our plans please contact economic.regeneration@haringey.gov.uk.
