The Haringey Welcome
The Haringey Welcome is a project made possible by European Integration Funding and the UKBA. The aim is to help newly-arrived third country nationals with their integration goals and objectives in the UK. Led by the Economic Development Team and run in partnership with HALS (Haringey Adult Learning services) and NLPC (North London Partnership Consortium), the Haringey Welcome offers the following:
- A personalised individual integration action plan
- Regular ongoing one-to-one support from your Advisor
- Free ESOL and basic skills assessment
- ESOL pre-entry level 1classes
- ESOL Entry level 1, 2 and 3 classes (including ICT)
- Assistance and funding towards converting your overseas qualification to UK recognised ones
- The support of a mentor for up to 6 months
- Volunteering Opportunities
- Three day UK Business Culture Workshops
Eligibility:
If you can answer yes to the following questions, you may be eligible for the Haringey Welcome:
- Are you a resident of Haringey or the local surrounding area?
- You do not have refugee status (there are separately funded projects for supporting refugees)
- You do not have a British or EU passport (you are not an EU or EEA National)
- You have lived in the UK for less than ten years
