Wood Green Town Centre Supplementary Planning Document

The Wood Green Town Centre Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) consultation process has now ended and the document was formally adopted at the Cabinet meeting on 14 October 2008. Thank you to all stakeholders who attended the exhibitions and submitted comments on the draft document.

The adopted document provides strategic planning guidance for the town centre area with the aim of creating a high quality, sustainable environment for all who live, work in and visit the area. The document is available from the attached files section below.

What is the Wood Green Town Centre SPD?

The SPD considers issues ranging from the height of buildings to enhancing open spaces, from attracting retailers to better transport and pedestrian links, and from encouraging sustainable developments to improving road safety.

It also seeks to ensure that Wood Green Town Centre reaps maximum benefit from the Haringey Heartlands regeneration scheme to the west of the High Road.

The SPD has been drawn up following consultation with a range of residents’ groups and partner organisations. In a special exercise last year the council asked local children how they would like to see Wood Green develop over the next 25 years. The results from this initial consultation phase can be found in the attached files section below.
