Housing Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)
The Council adopted a Housing Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) and supporting Sustainability Appraisal on 14 October 2008.
The SPD has been prepared in accordance with national planning guidance and the policies in the London Plan (2008). It provides additional guidance and information on the existing housing policies in the Unitary Development Plan. The SPD also replaces existing Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) on housing standards (SPG3a), privacy, sunlight and daylight (SPG3b) and affordable housing (SPG10b).
The SPD is intended for use in the determination of planning applications for housing development or for mixed use proposals involving housing. It provides detailed guidance on standards for new housing and conversions, on affordable housing provision and on housing design and density.
A copy of the Housing SPD and Sustainability Appraisal are available to download in the the attached files section below. Also attached below is a copy of the initial feedback from the consultation.
