Conservation Area No 17 - St. Ann's

view of Chestnuts Park, south side

The St. Ann's Conservation Area runs along the middle stretch of St. Ann's Road, between it's junctions with Seven Sisters Road and Hermitage Road, as well as short stretches of some roads off it. It also includes the whole of Chestnuts Park and parts of St. Ann's Hospital.

The character of the Conservation Area is varied, from former large private houses in grounds to small terraced housing. It is dominated by Chestnuts Park, originally the grounds of Chestnut House. The other dominant features are the high boundary wall to the hospital, opposite the park and St. Ann's Church, built in 1860's in random/rubble limestone and its associated buildings.
