Important things to remember when submitting your application

Please remember to read the guidance notes that accompany each application form to ensure that you include all the relevant supporting information when you submit your planning application. Some important things to remember when submitting your application are:

  • The correct fee - please see our fees section for information on how to calculate the correct fee for your application.
  • A Site Location Plan which identifies the land to which your application relates is required with all application.
  • You need to submit a design and access statement with most planning applications. For our guide to writing and submitting a statement, please see attached files section below.
  • As of 1 December 2010, all plans and drawing must include a scale bar or measurement so that officers can process applications electronically. If this is not included then the application will be deemed invalid.
  • Complete the ownership certificate A, B, C or D. If you have completed either certificate B or C and are not the sole owner of the land to which the application relates you will need to inform the owner. A template is available for you to notify the owner(s). The 'Notice of Planning Application to Owner(s)' is available in the attached files section below.
