Important New Fees Information
The Government introduced new planning fees on the 6th April 2008. For a breakdown of the new charges please see the Planning Fees 2008 document in the attached files section below. For more information about fees please see the Fees section below.
Which application form to use
The tables below contain the new Planning Application forms. From 28 February 2008, all planning applications in Haringey will need to be made using these government standard application forms, known collectively as 1APP. Visit our Planning News page to find out more information about 1APP.
- Householder Applications - For householders carrying out work to a single home including extensions, loft conversions, garages, access, fences and walls, balconies, satellite dishes.
- Applications for Full Planning Permission - For all other applications (not householder) for full permission.
- Conservation Area Consent (only) and Listed Building Consent (only) - These forms relate to conservation area and listed building consent. These forms should only be used where there is no requirement for a separate planning application.
- Works to Trees - The Application for Tree Works form should be used by anyone proposing to undertake works to trees in a conservation area, or works to trees subject to a Tree Preservation Order (TPO).
- Lawful Development Certificate Applications - If you want to be certain that the existing use of a building is lawful in terms of planning, or that your proposal for work to a building or site does/does not require planning permission.
- Advertisement Consent Only - This application should be used for proposals to display an advertisement or sign.
- Applications for Outline Permission - For all outline permission applications to establish whether development is acceptable in principle. This type of permission is usually sought for larger schemes.
- Applications for Reserved Matters and Removal of a Variation of Conditions - For applicants seeking approval for the detailed scheme known as 'reserved matters', for which the outline scheme has already been approved.
- Prior Notification Applications - These application forms should be used to give prior notification of demolition of a building or structure or a proposed telecommunications development.
How to submit your application
The forms can be downloaded via the links below, or alternatively why not submit an online planning application via the Planning Portal (See external links section below).

Fees (from 6 April 2008)
Please note that new planning fees came into force on 6 April 2008, details of what the new fees are can be found in the attached files section below.
You will have to pay a planning fee set by the government before we can deal with your application. Some exemptions exist.
You can find a list of the current planning fees in the attached files section below or you can use the Planning Portal's Fee Calculator to see how much your application will cost (see the external links section below.
Fees apply to:
- Applications for planning permission
- Applications for approval or reserved matters following the granting of an outline Planning Permission
- Applications for consent to display both illuminated and non-illuminated advertisements
Fees don't apply to:
- Applications for Listed Building or Conservation Area Consent
- Works to trees subject to Tree Preservation Orders
- Article 4 Direction Applications
- Applications by registered disabled applicants carrying out works such as extensions, car ports or vehicle crossovers
Payment may be made by cheque, postal order, giro cheque or money order, which should be crossed and made payable to the London Borough of Haringey.
Please note that it is your responsibility to make sure that your application is submitted correctly with the right fee.
