Standard Planning Application Form (1APP)

- How the form affects planning consent procedures
1APP is part of the Government’s commitment to making the planning system simpler, faster and easier to use. At present, authorities produce their own planning application forms which can differ in style, content and the information which is required. This inconsistency can sometimes lead to confusion for planning professionals and the public alike. The new form will ask standard questions and offer guidance at every stage.
1APP is an electronic application form hosted by the Planning Portal, the government facility for submitting online planning applications. Once logged onto the website, the applicant or agent is asked a series of questions to help determine which application form to complete. A detailed form specific to the proposal will be generated once this procedure is completed. The 1APP will be rolled out across England under management from the Government in conjunction with the Planning Portal. To make an application online please visit the Planning Portal via the external links section below. Paper copies of the new 1APP are available to download on this website from our forms and fees page or to collect from the council offices in person.
| Back to topWhen do I start using the new 1App form?
Haringey started using the new forms on 28 February 2008.
Please note 1APP is now the only method of making a planning application and we are unable to accept any old application forms.
In order to minimise the impact on users, a 1APP support team at the Planning Portal will be on hand to provide advice and guidance as well as further assistance if required.
| Back to topBenefits of completing the new form online
1APP in its online form will intelligently determine the planning consent type required, and specify Haringey’s additional information requirements, significantly increasing the chances of a valid application being submitted first time. This benefits both the applicant and the Planning Service staff who process the application, potentially resulting in applications being registered quicker.

- Conservation Area Consent
