Grants

Financial assistance is available from the council to assist owner occupiers in the private sector. This assistance is discretionary which allows the Council to decide how grants should be targeted. At present Haringey is targeting empty property owners with financial assistance and owner occupiers and tenants who require improved thermal comfort measures.

Empty Property Grants

To qualify for this grant the property must have been empty for a year. The grant is awarded at 50% of the cost of the works with £17,000 maximum grant per flat / house. The owner of the empty property must agree to take a council nominated person as a tenant on an assured short-hold tenancy agreement for 2 years.

Decent Homes Grants

Grants are currently available to vulnerable owner occupiers and private sector tenants for the installation of energy efficiency measures and boiler replacements.
