I have problems paying my rent/mortgage

If you have rent or mortgage arrears we can offer you an appointment with one of our Preventions and Options Advisers. At your appointment we will look for ways to help you solve the problem by trying to maximise your income and/or the benefits you receive and if necessary help you to reach an agreement with your landlord/lender.

My deposit has been withheld

If a landlord has refused to return your deposit or has made deductions without reason we can offer you an appointment with one of our Preventions and Options Advisers. At your appointment we will look into your situation and try to help you recover any of the deposit owed to you.

If you have a query regarding Housing Benefits, please contact one of our Customer Services Centres and speak to one of our Advisers, or visit the Housing Benefit section.

If you are in accommodation provided by or on behalf of Homes for Haringey (external link), please contact your Housing Manager.

My services have been disconnected

  • If you are a Homes for Haringey tenant, please contact your Housing Manager.
  • If you are a housing association tenant please contact your Housing Manager at the Housing Association.

If you are none of these, you will need to be seen by one of our Prevention and Options Officers for an emergency appointment. To make an emergency appointment, you can either call us on 020 8489 4309, or you can visit in person our Emergency Reception Centre which is based at:

I am having problems with an anti-social neighbour

The council takes incidents of anti-social behaviour very seriously. If you are a victim of anti-social behaviour, please contact the council's Anti-Social Behaviour Line on 0845 671 1177 or visit one of our Customer Services Centres. If you are not a Homes for Haringey or a housing association tenant and you believe your home is unreasonable to occupy we can offer you an appointment with one of our Prevention and Options Advisers. At your appointment we will look into your situation and how it can be resolved and/or advise you on any alternative housing options available to you. You should make an appointment by telephoning the Prevention and Options advice line on 020 8489 4309 or by visiting a customer service centre.
