The Home Heat Helpline
The Home Heat Helpline was established in October 2005 by the Energy Retail Association to provide one central point of contact for people concerned about paying their fuel bills.
Research conducted by Ofgem and the Energy Saving Trust has shown:
- 75% of vulnerable customers did not know whom to turn to if they were struggling with paying their fuel bills.
- Only 33% of people would consider approaching their energy supplier, although 75% of those questioned were concerned about paying their fuel bills
The Home Heat Helpline therefore provides a similar service to EnergyWatch, in that they provide free, confidential advice on coping with rising energy prices.
