We appreciate that finding affordable housing can be a real problem and we will try to do our best to help teachers find accommodation.

A council wide key worker housing strategy is being developed and currently we:

maintain a database of teachers looking for assistance with accommodation
provide a list of letting agents for our teachers
work with local housing associations to provide low cost accommodation to rent or buy
liaise with our housing department to provide shared ownership schemes.
Advise on the key worker living scheme to assist teachers in buying their own homes where you could receive an equity loan of up to £50,000 for teachers or £100,000 for potential leaders.
