Where can I obtain a cycle map of the borough?
We have prepared a map showing cycle routes in the borough. This can be sent free of charge on request. Please contact 020 8489 5873.

Who do I speak to about bus stops in the borough?
London Buses, part of Transport for London, is responsible for maintaining bus stops. If a bus stop needs to be moved or a new bus stop erected, London Buses will select a suitable location. The acceptability of the proposed location will be agreed with the Council as Highway Authority. London Buses consult immediate adjoining frontages on the acceptability of the location.

Is this footpath or access way a Public Right of Way?

Public Rights of Way are shown on a Definitive Map. The map is currently being produced. We can provide information on whether a footpath or access is a Public Highway which provides strong evidence of a Public Right of Way. Information on the status of a footpath or access way can be provided by Transportation Planning for a fee. Please write to Transportation Planning, 1st Floor South, River Park House, 225 High Road, London, N22 8HQ. The cost is currently £15 for a single request for information.

Who do I speak to about improving bus services in the borough?

London Buses, part of Transport for London, is responsible for planning and funding bus services in the borough. We have a role in seeking bus service improvements and additional bus services. If you have an issue regarding bus services in the borough please contact initially London Buses Customer Services on 020 7918 4300 or email them at customerservices@tfl-buses.co.uk. If you have a particular concern which has not been addressed by London Buses Customer Services please contact Transportation Planning, First Floor South, River Park House, 225 High Road, N22 8HQ.

We meet regularly with London Buses and the local bus companies to discuss bus service issues.

Do you have information on public transport services in the borough?

Transport for London have a 24 hour travel information line on 020 7222 1234 which provides details of bus, underground and light rail services in London. For national rail service information contact 08457 48 49 50. This also operates 24 hours a day. Additionally TfL Journey Planner can be accessed through the TfL website (see external links section below).

Do I need planning permission for a crossover/dropped kerb?

You only need planning permission for a crossover where a new access is being created onto a Classified Road. A Classified Road is an A, B or C road.

For non-Classified Roads planning permission for a crossover is not required. If you want to put in a crossover, please contact Streetscene Business Support Team on 020 8489 1335 who will arrange for a Highways Inspector to visit the site to assess its suitability and provide a cost estimate.
