School Crossing Patrols
School crossing patrols ensure that travel to and from school, for local children, is as safe as possible.
Patrols are authorised to stop the traffic for anyone who wishes to cross the road, as long as they are working at their official site and wearing the correct uniform.

Placement of school crossing patrols
School Crossing Patrols are provided where children are in danger from road traffic when walking to and from school. This does not necessarily mean the patrol will be positioned directly outside a school but at some point along the route where the need is measured to be greatest.
Requesting a school crossing patrol
Requests for additional school crossing patrols can be made by contacting our Road Safety Officer on Tel 020 8489 1371.
Following a request we will survey the area to see if it meets the national criteria which includes a vehicle and pedestrian count.
