What we collect

We can now collect a number of bulky household items for free. If you have any of the following items to get rid of, you can use our free collection service:

  • Fridges
  • Freezers
  • Washing machines
  • Dishwashers
  • Tumble driers
  • Ovens and cookers (but not microwaves)
  • Gas cylinders
  • Car batteries
  • Car tyres
  • Computers / PCs
  • Computer monitors
  • TVs

For other items, such as furniture, Haringey Enterprise offers an individual bulky household waste collection for a fee of £16.48. As long as you live in Haringey you can request the service for a maximum of 6 items to be collected. The items will be collected from your front garden and taken away.

All electrical items can be taken to the council's two Reuse and Recycling Centres in Hornsey and Tottenham.

Conditions

As a general rule, anything that you might take with you when moving home can be collected. We make every effort to reuse or recycle as many items as possible.

We will not collect:

  • Rubble
  • Masonry and tiles
  • Construction waste
  • Waste from house renovations.

The service can be provided only to those homes that have a front garden area where large and bulky items can be placed out of harms way to those walking along pavements.

Leaving items on the pavement is not permitted in any circumstances because this poses risks to passers by.
