What happens to recycling

Recycling is collected in different ways in Haringey, depending on the types of items and where they are being picked up from.

Source separated collections

The source separated collections page provides information about recycling that is collected in different containers. The only source-separated collections in Haringey are for specific items at the Reuse and Recycling Centres, and also the special recycling banks for drink cartons and textiles located around the borough.

Mixed material collections

The mixed material collections page gives details on how different types of recycling can be collected from the same boxes and bins. This includes collections from:

  • Green boxes
  • On-street recycling banks
  • Recycling facilities at many blocks of flats and housing estates

Organic recycling

The organic recycling page provides more information about the local composting facility where the food waste and garden waste collected in Haringey is taken.
