Recycle In The Garden

Recycling is not limited to the home.  Grass cuttings, prunings, leaves, hedge clippings and flowers from your garden can all be composted, ensuring that valuable nutrients do not go to waste.

Here are some ways to make your garden even greener:

  • Home composting - Haringey residents can buy discounted home composting bins.  Composting at home is easy and provides a free supply of good quality compost for use on the garden.
  • Green garden waste - over 70,000 households receive a regular collection of green garden waste
  • Reuse and Recycling Centres - residents can take green garden waste to these centres in Hornsey and Tottenham
  • Buy a water butt - these are used to collect rain water for use on the garden.  Using a water butt provides you with a free supply of water and helps to conserve mains water supplies.  Water butts are available from many garden centres and DIY stores.  Thames Water also offer water butts at discounted prices - please see the external links section below.
