Estates with the blue bag service
Blocks of flats with this service receive a weekly collection from their doorstep, using a reusable blue bag which the council provides. Please see the blue bag collection schedule page for information on blocks of flats and estates receiving the service.
|Back to topHow to use the blue bag service
Residents need to leave their blue bag outside their front door by 7am on the morning of collection. Bags must not be left outside at any other time.
All general household rubbish must be put into your existing general refuse container. If you put any items in your recycling bag that cannot be recycled these will be left behind.

Missed collections
If you have put your blue recycling bag outside your front door by 7am on the collection day with the correct items inside but it is not collected, you can report this to the Haringey Enterprise Call Centre:
Tel: 020 8885 7700
Email: haringey.enterprise@enterprise.plc.uk
We will aim to rectify missed collections within 1 working day of being reported.
Please remember that unsuitable items will be left in the blue bag, and you must dispose of these yourself.
|Back to topLift breakdowns
In the event of lifts breaking down, collections will be carried out up to and including the 4th floor. Collections from higher floors will take place as soon as lifts are in working order.
Replacement and additional blue bags
If you receive the blue bag service you can order replacement or additional bags at any time. Bags will be delivered within 10 working days of an order. To order blue bags contact the Haringey Enterprise Call Centre:
Tel: 020 8885 7700
Email: haringey.enterprise@enterprise.plc.uk
What happens to the materials I put out for recycling?
The recycling is taken to a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in London, where the different materials are separated using a combination of mechanical separation and hand sorting. Once sorted from one another, these materials are then delivered to reprocessing companies to be recycled into new products.
For more information please see the mixed material collections section on the what happens to recycling page.
