Recycling for Flats and Estates
If you live in a block of flats, a property above a shop or on an estate then you may not be able to have a green recycling box, but you can still recycle.
There are a number of recycling services available for you to use. For more information about these services please follow the links below.
- On-street recycling banks
- Reuse and Recycling Centres
- Blocks recycling service
- Homes for Haringey trial recycling service
Blocks recycling service
The council is introducing recycling facilities for blocks of flats during 2008. It is currently being rolled out to over 150 blocks and subject to funding will be extended to all parts of the borough in the 2008/09 financial year.
- For more information please see the near-entry collections page.
Homes for Haringey trial recycling service
The council is running a recycling service on Homes for Haringey estates in parts of Northumberland Park, Tottenham, Seven Sisters and Wood Green. Blocks of flats and estates included in this trial receive one of two services:
- Blue bag collections, (doorstep collection) or
- Near-entry collections (recycling bins)
The service is an 18 month trial scheme for up to 6,000 Homes for Haringey properties. It is being operated in areas of the borough where there is a large concentration of blocks of flats and estates, which enables the council to efficiently serve a large number of households.
If the trial scheme is successful then the council will look at expanding the service to all Homes for Haringey blocks and estates in the borough in 2008/9, subject to funding being made available.
