Sorted Recycling Service
Haringey Council will be expanding our popular mixed recycling service during 2008, which will enable all residents with a green box to recycle plastic bottles and cardboard. In the meantime, some residents will continue to receive the sorted green box recycling service.

What can be recycled

Please rinse all bottles, jars, cans and tins before putting them in your green box. Please also remove the lids from your bottles and jars.
If you put anything into your green box that cannot be recycled it will be left in the box or disposed of in your wheelie bin.

Using the service
You do not need to sort your recycling in the green box. However, if you are putting any clothes or shoes out for collection please put these into a plastic bag to keep them clean and dry.
Please leave your green box by the front gate (but not on the pavement) so that the collection crews can easily see your recycling.
Many collections are made early in the morning, so please put your green box out the night before your scheduled collection day

Your recycling from the green box is sorted into different containers inside the vehicle. When the vehicle returns to our depot the materials are put into separate skips for transporting to reprocessing companies. These companies use your recycling to make new products.
