Avoiding payments

If you ignore a Notice to Owner/Enforcement Notice and refuse to pay, the charge will increase by 50% to the surcharge rate and you will be issued with a Charge Certificate. If you do not pay the increased charge within 14 days (beginning with the date of the issue of the Notice to Owner/Enforcement Notice), we will go to the County Court to register the debt. This will add a further £5.00 in court costs to the outstanding debt. An Order for Recovery will be sent to you.

If you still refuse to pay, the Council will obtain a Warrant and pass the debt to bailiffs to collect on our behalf. The bailiff can seize goods to cover the parking fine plus their costs.
