Housing estates parking scheme for residents and visitors
Less congestion, more parking spaces
Haringey Council has responded to the issue of parking congestion on council estates by introducing the estate car parking scheme, now run by Homes for Haringey. Estates that are part of the scheme are clearly indicated with notice boards at each entrance to the estate.
Other parking restrictions may also apply which are indicated by signs or road markings.
How do you benefit?
You can benefit from the scheme if you satisfy all of the following:
- you are a council estate resident
- you live on an estate that forms part of the scheme
- you are in possession of a valid resident’s parking permit
If you satisfy all of the above criteria you can receive parking priority during local enforcement times, usually between 8am and 6pm Monday to Saturday.

Residents told us that they wanted visitors' parking permits so that their visitors could also use parking spaces. In response to these requests we introduced a pilot scheme for visitor parking permits in the Wood Green area. This pilot scheme was a success and visitors parking permits were extended across the borough during 2007 / 2008. All residents living on participating estates are eligible to apply for these permits.
