Essential Service Permit

An Essential Service Permit allows parking in a residential parking bay or in a shared use bay within a Controlled Parking Zone in the London Borough of Haringey.

The purpose of an Essential Service Permit is to assist the delivery of personal service (including essential property maintenance) for the benefit of residents within the Controlled Zone.

Note the permit cannot be used in the following roads:

  • Cumberland Rd,
  • Ringslade Rd
  • Warberry Rd
  • Selborne Rd
  • Ranelagh Rd
  • Wolseley Rd
  • Bradley Rd
  • Barratt Avenue
  • Parkland Rd
  • Tower Terrace

The qualifying criteria is based on exceptional operational need:

  • Those involved in building maintenance whether or not it applies to private or public sector housing/buildings.
  • Those involved in the delivery of essential services to residents and require as part of their job to carry heavy (or hazardous) equipment or materials.
  • Those involved in the delivery of essential services to residents who are required to work extended unsociable hours or are on 24 hour call out.
  • Schools may submit a business case for permits and these will be charged at the rates for residential parking permits. A separate application form has been created for schools please see below.
