Pest Control Charges 2009-2010

Concessions

Those on applicable means tested benefits will get concessions when booking Haringey's pest control service according to the new pricing structure which is now in force. There is a concessionary charge of £15 for clients who receive a means tested benefit and the concessionary charge will cover a far wider population than under the old price structure.

Landlord/Tenants

Landlords are responsible for the treatments costs. If Private and Housing Association Tenants really want to arrange and pay for treatments rather than contacting their landlord, they can do so at the domestic rate but not the concession rate.

Individual charges will reflect ability to pay with clients who receive means tested benefits receiving treatment for a small service charge. Concessions based on access to these benefits will be consistent with those used to trigger release of means tested housing improvement grants.

Means Tested Benefits

Means Tested Benefits include:

  • Income Support
  • Income based Jobseekers Allowance
  • Pension Credit
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Housing Benefit/ Council Tax Benefit

The charges will be in three bands:

  • Concession Rate - for clients who receive Means Tested Benefits.
  • Domestic Rate - for clients who do not receive benefits, Homes for Haringey, Council Properties and Registered Social Landlords.
  • Commercial Rate – this will include Commercial Landlords. The table below shows minimum charges, additional costs may be levied by survey.

Please note

  • ALL Pest Control treatments at Domestic and Commercial rate are based on a 3 bedroom house with an additional minimum charge of £45.97 per extra room
  • Prices are inclusive of VAT charged at 15%
  • Where no VAT is payable this will be reduced by the applicable rate.
  • Additional Administrative costs will be levied if appropriate.
  • A nominal fee of £15.32 will be charged where concession rate clients miss their appointment without 24hr notification and wish to have the missed treatment carried out.
  • An additional fee of £26.55 will be charged to Domestic and Commercial rate clients in the event of failure to give 24hr notification of cancellation of the appointment.
  • Block treatments for not for profit organisations will have a reduction of 10% for treatment involving 20 or more properties.
