Draft Tree Strategy

Haringey Council is committed to creating a greener, more sustainable environment for residents and visitors to the borough and is now seeking your views and opinions.

A draft Tree Strategy (see attached files section below) detailing how the borough’s tree stock will be managed, maintained and enhanced over the coming years has been produced. This document supports the recently produced ‘Greenest Borough Strategy’ which in turn highlights and enforces the Council’s commitment to becoming one of the Greenest Boroughs.

Trees play an essential role in providing a wide range of environmental, economic and social benefits. Some of these we can see, feel and measure such as improvement to air quality or the added value that trees bring to the visual environment.

Haringey’s draft Tree Strategy details the Council’s approach to the management and enhancement of its tree stock. It will ensure that trees within Haringey are managed in a proactive and systematic manner that will lead to improvements in tree health and provide a more sustainable tree population.

We've recently consulted on the draft Tree Strategy. The results from the consultation will be available here shortly.

If you would like further information on the borough's trees please email Alex Fraser, Principal Arboriculture Officer at parks@haringey.gov.uk.
