Conservation

Very few London boroughs can boast such a wide variety of habitats and wildlife than those found in Haringey. Ancient woodland including Coldfall, Bluebell and Queens Wood are homes to scarce orchids and rare beetles.

The Parkland Walk is one of three Local Nature Reserves (LNR), and is London’s longest LNR, home to more than two hundred wild flowers and the rarely seen Muntjac deer. Railway Fields is another LNR, recently accredited with the coveted Green Flag Award, and home to Haringey’s renowned environmental education centre.

All these and many more conservation sites are protected through our Biodiversity Action Plan and are managed by the Haringey Branch of the environmental charity BTCV.
