There are a number of organisations in and around Haringey who can help support the development of sustainable food in the borough. See below for more information.

Capital Growth

Capital GrowthCapital Growth aim to create 2,012 new growing spaces in the capital by 2012 and Haringey is supporting this goal by creating 60 new community growing spaces in the borough. Capital Growth offer practical advice and networking opportunities to new food growing groups. They have periodic rounds of funding for new growing spaces and provide a wealth of information and resources for would-be and first time food growers. Local Support

There are a number of groups working across Haringey to support food growing through their various projects. Some offer information and advice if you are considering growing your own, others can provide access to shared tools and equipment and most have a regular calendar of activities that you can become involved in.

Haringey40:20

Haringey 40:20 is a free membership organisation aimed at bringing together local residents, businesses and charities in order to tackle climate change. Haringey was the first local authority to sign up to an ambitious 40 percent carbon reduction target (from 2005 levels) by 2020 as part of the Friends of the Earth Get Serious Campaign.

The Haringey 40:20 website has pages of information about what is being done to tackle climate change in the borough, local discounts and freebies, and case studies from local sustainability groups. To join Haringey 40:20 and get involved all you need to do is:
