What the Council is Doing
Being more environmentally responsible is an important priority for the Council. We have, and will continue to implement a number of measures to cut our carbon emissions. These include areas such as sustainable procurement, reducing and recycling waste, saving energy in our offices and buildings, and improving our transport fleet. The Public Sector has a responsibility to provide services efficiently and this means taking consideration of its environmental impact.
Through leading by example, a picture is created of a variety of environmental opportunities that could be adopted elsewhere.
