Energy Monitors
Saving energy is an easy way to cut your electricity bills while helping to reduce your carbon footprint. However, it is not always easy to understand how you are using energy, so that you know what to do to save it.
Haringey Council is therefore working in partnership with the Energy Saving Trust Advice Centre for London to make 100 energy monitoring devices available to residents to loan from the borough's libraries.
An energy monitor allows you to see exactly how much energy is currently being used in your home and how much energy you can save by turning appliances off.
The wireless monitoring devices are portable, easy to install and display a range of information, including real time energy use and cost. The devices come with easy to understand instructions, as well as an 'eco diary' for residents to log their readings.
Residents who borrow one of the devices from a library will also receive two free energy saving light bulbs to help make their homes even more energy efficient.
The devices are available from all 9 libraries in the borough:
- Wood Green Central Library, High Road, Wood Green, N22 6XD
- Alexandra Park Library, Wood Green, N22 7UJ
- Coombes Croft Library, (temporarily re-located to) 782 Tottenham High Road, N17 0BX
- Highgate Library, 1 Shepherds Hill, Highgate, N6 5QJ
- Hornsey Library, Haringey Park, Crouch End, N8 9JA
- Marcus Garvey Library, Philip Lane, Tottenham, N15 4JA
