Going Green Conference
In 2011 no Going Green Conference was held but in June the Haringey 40:20 Conference took place to launch the Council's ambition plan to deliver a 40% carbon saving by 2020.
Going Green Conference 2010
The third Going Green Conference took place on Saturday 20 February 2010 at the Haringey Sixth Form Centre. Over 100 people attended the event with a focus on carbon reduction, which had become even more prevalent over the previous year due to the adoption of the aspirational 40% CO2 target by 2020. You can access the outcome report in the attached files section at the bottom of the page.
Many of the achievements over the previous year had only been made possible due to the partnership between local organisations, businesses and community groups. The conference aimed to highlight some of those actions by including presentations from:
- Tiverton Primary School
- Groundwork
- Volker Highways
- Sustainable Haringey
At a general level the conference reflected on key successes over the previous year to deliver the Greenest Borough Strategy and provided a platform for delegates to discuss how collectively we could begin to reduce CO2. Previous years alluded to the fact that there has not always been a regular flow of information available to the community as to the range of activities taking place to deliver on the environmental agenda along with opportunities for involvement. The conference in 2010 played host to the launch of the Greenest Borough Strategy Annual Report (PDF, 3.6Mb), reflecting on the previous year and outlining the prospective activities to come in 2010.
