Lost Pet Posters
When you lose a much loved pet, you will want to take every possible step to ensure their safe return. This may include putting up posters around your local area.
If you are going to take this action we would ask that you ensure that the posters are weather proofed and that you remove them and their attachments within 28 days of putting them up. Please also avoid attaching posters to trees.
Putting up lost pet posters is an offence under the Town and Country Planning Act and Highways Act, however, we would not normally choose to enforce.
There are some circumstances for which we will take enforcement action. They include:
- if a very large quantity of posters have been put up, which have a detrimental effect on the local environment
- if the posters have been put on trees or have been put up in such a way that causes damage to street furniture or public property
In these incidences we may remove some of the posters.
If you have any questions or need some advice about this, please do not hesitate to contact us (contact details found below).
