Bin the Litter or Feel the Fine

Bin the litter posterHaringey Council is working hard to keep our streets clean. Litter in a public place is unsightly and dangerous to animals, and dropping it can get you an on the spot fine of £75.

There are more than 800 litter bins in Haringey, and this number is increasing all the time, so avoid the fine by always trying to use a litter bin or take it home with you.

There are a range of ways for you to get more information about litter in your area:

  • Visit the Keep Britain Tidy website (see the external links section below) for more information on national litter campaigns, and how you can get involved. Keep Britain Tidy is the national environmental charity that works to make a cleaner and greener Britain.
  • Get involved with a Big Tidy Up in your area by the Big Tidy Up website (see the external links section below). The Big Tidy Up campaign has seen thousands of groups tidy up and collect tons of rubbish on England’s streets.
