Haringey's neighbourhood renewal strategy 2002 - 2012
Almost thirty per cent of Haringey residents live in areas amongst the 10 per cent most deprived in England. Haringey's level of deprivation is the 10th most extensive in England. The Haringey Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy (HNRS) aims to improve these deprived areas over the next decade.
This is the first major task for the Haringey Strategic Partnership (HSP).
There are five main areas we have identified for Neighbourhood Renewal:
- Wood Green town centre
- Central Tottenham and Seven Sisters
- Northumberland Park
- White Hart Lane
- Bruce Grove/Tottenham Hale.
You can download a copy of the full Strategy and summary by following the links in the Attached Files section below.

We face many challenges to improve these areas. We believe the main ones are:
- Reducing crime
- Improving the environment
- Making more affordable housing available
- Increasing quality of health and social care services
- Improving education and employment opportunities for all residents
- Targeting inequalities especially amongst Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities.
- Promoting economic growth.
The HSP plans to do many things about the challenges identified in the HNRS and the Community Strategy. There is a joint action plan for both strategies. You can download the Action Plan by following the link in the Attached Files section below.
