Freedom of Information Charging Policy

The Freedom of Information Act guarantees that the majority of the costs associated with meeting requests for information are met by the Council. However, the Council has the right to balance the right to information with its need to carry out its other duties and the Act enables the Council to decline to comply with information requests on the grounds of cost or alternatively to make a charge for the cost of complying.
