Local Code of Conduct Complaints Process
Changes to the complaints procedure
Since 8 May 2008 the responsibility for considering complaints that a councillor or co-opted member of Haringey Council may have breached the Code of Conduct, has moved to the standards committees of local authorities.
What this means to you
If you want to complain about the conduct of an elected or co-opted member of Haringey Council, you should complete the complaints form in the attached files section and submit your complaint to:
The Standards Committee
C/O The Monitoring Officer
Haringey Council
River Park House
225 High Road
Wood Green
N22 8HQ
Email standards.assessment@haringey.gov.uk
Information for potential complainants, the process for complaints and and explanation of what happens to your complaint can also be found in the attached files section.
The assessment sub-committee can only deal with complaints about the behaviour of a member. It will not deal with complaints about things that are not covered by the members' Code of Conduct. If you make a complaint to the assessment sub-committee it must be about why you think a member has not followed the Code of Conduct.
The members model ' Code of Conduct can be found in part 5, section A of Haringey Council's Constitution or in the attached files section.
