Children's Trust

Who are we?

The Children’s Trust aims to improve outcomes for children and young people who live in, use local services and visit Haringey through closer planning and working relationships between all relevant stakeholders across the diverse community

The Children’s Trust brings together the key agencies and partners in the Borough concerned with services for children and young people. This includes Haringey Council, NHS Haringey, the Police, schools, the Mental Health Trust, hospitals, College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London, voluntary and community organisations. The Chair of the Local Safeguarding Children Board is also a member of the Trust.

The Children’s Trust is one of the family of partnerships in Haringey. We are responsible for overseeing the delivery of the Haringey children and young people's plan.

Our Vision

We want every child and young person in Haringey to be happy, healthy, safe and confident about the future.

How we will achieve our vision

The Children and Young People’s Plan sets out our priorities for achieving the vision. The priorities cover the five outcomes which are derived from children’s legislation and government guidance:

  • Be Healthy
  • Stay Safe
  • Enjoy and Achieve
  • Make a Positive Contribution
  • Achieve Economic Wellbeing

Haringey’s action plan in response to the Joint Area Review of Safeguarding forms part of our stay safe priorities.

How we will monitor the outcomes

The Children’s Trust is responsible for making sure that we achieve the outcomes and priorities in the children and young people’s plan.

An evaluation of the children and young people’s plan is published each year.

A children and young people’s scorecard is used to monitor the outcomes and is presented to the Children’s Trust EPMG. Exception reports are presented to the full Children's Trust meetings.

Parenting and Family Support Strategy

Haringey Children’s Trust’s vision for families in Haringey is to ensure that all parents and carers (including those who find it difficult to access services) have the support they need to engage in and contribute to their children’s early years development, education and broader outcomes, and especially, to ensure that appropriate support is accessed by those vulnerable families who need it most.

The Parenting and Family Support Strategy sets out this vision, draws together information on current provision and need, and identifies five priority areas for further development. You can read the strategy in the ‘attached files’ section below.
