International Women's Day

Celebrating International Women’s Day in Haringey – Saturday 6 March

Saturday 6 March 2010 sees Haringey’s annual free celebration for International Women’s Day from 11.00am to 5.00pm at the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London (CHENEL), Tottenham High Road, London N15. The theme for International Women’s Day 2010 is “Laughing about life to help and heal women”.

On offer are stalls and workshops on fashion, carpentry, yoga, salsa, wellbeing and fitness sessions. This year in partnership with Funny Women we will be holding workshops on Stand Up Comedy with the best three women performing at the afternoon ceremony.

The highlight of the day is the presentation of the annual Haringey Unsung Women awards which recognise the achievements of women in the borough and the vital role they play in the community. If you would like to nominate someone for this award who has not received one before, you can complete a form online.

The event is organised by Haringey Women’s Forum, Haringey Council, local women’s groups and CHENEL.
