Council Constitution
Haringey’s constitution exists to ensure that the council is efficient, transparent and accountable, through clearly stating the way it operates and how decisions are made.
It explains the roles and responsibilities of Councillors and staff, and explains the processes through which the council pursues its democratic priorities, and fulfils its legal obligations.
On 21 May 2007 the council adopted a new Constitution which reverted to the modula form. The Constitution is shown below. Any previous downloads you may have will now be out of date.
