What is a LINk?
Haringey Health and Care LINk was set up from April 2008. Community Investors were interim managers.
From 1 July 2008 The Shaw Trust will be the LINk Hosts.
The LINk is a network of local people, organisations and groups that are interested in making sure that local health and care services meet the needs of local people. If you would like more information about national LINk organisations please visit the Department of Health website (see external links section below).
|back to topWhat will the LINk do?
Haringey LINk will:
- give you the chance to say what you think and to suggest ideas to help improve services
- work with the local health and care professionals organisations to make sure your views are heard
- encourage and support local people to get involved in how local health and care services are planned and run
- help you have your say about your needs and about your experiences of services.
What services will the LINk cover?
Haringey LINk will look at all health and social care services in the borough. It will not matter whether the services are provided by the NHS, the council, a private company, a social enterprise or a charity. Haringey LINk will feed back information to the people responsible for commissioning, providing, managing and checking up on health and social care services so that things can change if they need to.

Haringey LINk will not replace groups that are already working for the community. Instead Haringey LINk will bring together the whole community and will have certain powers. It should make it easier for groups and individuals to be heard.
Haringey LINk will replace the Patients’ Forums and the Commission for Patient and Public Involvement in Health has closed.
|back to topHaringey LINk Host organisation
To make sure that Haringey LINk remains independent a "HOST" organisation will support the LINk. In December 2007 and January 2008 the council undertook an extensive consultation to identify potential models for the host followed by an open tender process.
The Shaw Trust has been appointed as the Host organisation from 1 July 2008. The Haringey LINk Host is an independent organisation.
