Contacts for the Cabinet

The entire decision-making process - and the services provided to councillors by Local Democracy and Member Services - is designed to ensure councillors are equipped effectively to take forward their community leadership role.

The Leader and Cabinet Support  team provides dedicated research, policy and administrative support to the Leader, the Cabinet and Majority Group; undertakes Forward Planning, agenda management and servicing of Cabinet meetings and Cabinet Sub-Bodies; supports the Chief Executive's Management Board.

The Leader and Cabinet Support team and the Cabinet Committees team are based in River Park House, 225 High Road, Wood Green, N22 8HQ.

The Leader's Office team

The Leader's Office team provide direct policy support to the Leader of the Council and his Cabinet. Officers have a role in co-ordinating and providing research and briefings to all Members of the Cabinet.

They provide an administrative, secretarial, policy and research, briefings and casework support service to the Leader of the Council which includes arranging and servicing Leadership meetings, dealing with correspondence/casework and providing effective diary management.

Other Support Officers

Cabinet Support Officers provide direct support to the other  Members of the Cabinet, providing policy and research services, briefings, arranging and servicing some meetings, dealing with correspondence/casework and providing effective diary management.

The Support Officers also maintain records and databases that facilitate the provision of information required by the Cabinet Committees Team, the Leader and Members of the Cabinet and provides the Cabinet Committees Team with a comprehensive administrative and policy support service.

Cabinet Committees Team

The Cabinet Committees team form the hub of the Cabinet's decision making process, providing advice on procedure and practice and application of relevant legislation and the Council's Standing Orders.

Servicing the Cabinet and its various sub bodies they ensure that decisions taken and the process by which they are taken comply with the requirements of the law. They co-ordinate all action taken under the urgency procedures and delegated authority; the co-ordination of the Forward Plan and General Exceptions and the servicing of Chief Executive's Management Board.

  • Richard Burbidge is the team's manager and the primary contact for the Cabinet's decision-making functions.
  • Maria Fletcher is the primary contact for Chief Executive's Management Board (CEMB), the Forward Plan, forward planning, project mapping and decision-tracking for CEMB and the Cabinet.
