Complaints about Councillors
Haringey Council is committed to delivering high standards of service including ethical governance by our Councillors. All councillors are expected to abide by the Council’s Members' Code of Conduct - 'The Code' - which mirrors standards of conduct that have been set by the government at a national level.
How to complain about a councillor
To make a complaint about a councillor, please contact the Council’s

What we will do with your complaint
The Monitoring Officer
- will acknowledge your complaint within two working days
- may ask you for more information
- may ask you to fill in a complaints form
If the monitoring officer thinks your complaint does not disclose a breach of The Code, they will
- inform you of this
- ask you to provide further relevant information
If the monitoring officer thinks your complaint does disclose a breach of The Code, they will
- arrange a meeting of the Assessment sub-committee
- aim to complete the assessment of the complaint within 20 working days of receiving details.
