Haringey Health and Social Care LINk (Local Involvement Network)

Having your say about health and social care services.

What is a LINk?

Haringey LINk is independently run by individuals and community group representatives in Haringey working together to improve the way Health and Social Care Services are delivered.

In order to fulfil this important role, Haringey LINk brings together the whole community with certain powers, for example the power to:

  • Enter specific premises and view services provided as well as collecting the views and experiences of people using health and social care services
  • Request information from service provides
  • Make reports and recommendations to service providers
  • Refer matters to the Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Committee

Examples of issues covered by LINK

The LINk has a remit to look at Health and Social Care issues within Haringey (excluding children Social Care which is covered by Ofsted) examples of the issues that maybe covered by the LINk include:

  • Mental Health
  • Long Term conditions
  • Sexual Health
  • Change in local service provision

LINk Structure

The LINk is made up of local volunteers and is supported by a host organisation. It is independent of any external organisations and is led by the LINk membership.

The host organisation is responsible for supporting the LINk membership and comprises of two members of staff based at Wood Green Central Library.

How can you get involved?

Parent,child and Health Professional

Anyone can be part of the LINk; carers, residents, service users, community leaders, patient’s representatives, charity groups, faith groups, tenant organisations, youth councils, BME (Black and Minority Ethnic) organisations and business federations.

Whether you purely want to receive information or sit on the Executive Board, help out in working groups or at events. So no matter how much or how little time you have to spare the LINk could benefit form your involvement.
