School and Family Visits

Wolves Lane Nursery is open every day of the week, between 10am and 4pm, for anyone wishing to drop in and buy something or simply have a look around at the different habitats on offer at the Nursery.

School Sessions

For more organised visits, Wolves Lane is a fantastic multi-sensory and inspirational experience for school children from early years through to key stage 2.

The multi-sensory experience takes them through a desert area with weird and wonderful shaped cacti, a rainforest area with falling rain and model creatures and into the Palm House where they can wander amongst palm trees and giant ferns and see tropical birds, terrapins, goldfish and giant koi swimming in running streams.

In the classroom it is possible to handle a range of small creatures that would naturally live in rainforest or desert conditions.

All sessions are linked to the national curriculum and focus on a range of topics including habitats, planting and growing, sustainability and being healthy. Sessions can also be developed to any particular focus that children may be working on.

The café area can be booked for schools to have packed lunch or, if the weather is fine, nearby Woodside Park can be used.

Costs

A two-hour session (morning or afternoon), with a maximum of 30 children, costs £70 for Haringey schools or £95 for schools outside the borough.

The Education Officer can also visit schools with a range of creatures and a rainforest setting. For a morning or afternoon session this costs £85 for Haringey schools or £110 for schools from out of the borough.

Family Learning Sessions

Family Learning groups for parents are also being run at Wolves Lane in partnership with HALS - Haringey Adult Learning Service.

The groups for parents and carers focus on using the Nursery as a source of learning and develop parent/carer skills for life.

To book a session or for more information contact Angela Appleby, Education Officer on 020 8888 5306.
