Alexandra Palace

Alexandra Palace is the iconic North London destination that offers you everything you need for a day out or event. First opened in 1873, the People’s Palace is today visited and loved by over a million people each year. Boasting panoramic views of London that are second to none, guests can enjoy freshly cooked meals in the Palace’s pub or Park cafés, ice skate on the Palace’s own ice rink, pedal around in the boating lake and take advantage of the 196 acres of unspoilt parkland. Other activities include a yearlong calendar of events and exhibitions, soft play adventure equipment for the children, a pitch and put, a deer enclosure, a skate park and popular weekly farmers market each Sunday.
Ally Pally also opens it's doors to those wanting an enchanted venue for weddings, banqueting, conferences, exhibitions and live events. The Palace has a variety of rooms available for different sized groups, the largest able to hold 11,000 people.
In 2013, Alexandra Park will be celebrating it's 150th Anniversary and will continue to regenerate the Palace in a programme designed to conserve the grand Victorian building.
A six-point regeneration plan aims to transform the Palace by:
- improving visitors’ first impressions
- upgrading it's entrances
- making it easier to move around inside
- upgrading the main halls
- building a hotel behind the Victorian façade, and
- opening up derelict spaces
Within its walls, the Palace boasts spaces rich in history including the original BBC broadcasting studios and a historic Victorian theatre. These hidden gems are open to the public during Open House each September.
