Tate Training

It seems a long time ago that Artscope first collaborated with Tate Britain in developing a series of hands-on practical resource boxes for increasing access to the Tate's collection for visitors with disabilities. Now five years later, Artscope have been approached to assist in the delivery of training to Tate staff.

Tate Modern

Haringey's Ian McLaughlin and Keith Simmonds, alongside the Tate's Liz Ellis, will be focusing on developing good practise for the Tate's workshop leaders at the training. Staff will have the opportunity to relate their current experiences of working with visitors with disabilities within the Gallery and to explore methods of improving workshop planning and delivery.

It is refreshing when institutions like the Tate approach the actual 'user groups' to advise on improving practise and acknowledge that skill-sharing is indeed the way forward in providing a more accessible service for all visitors.
